Mr. Bobmanuel’s family has said that he was the “pride and joy” of his mother and that he was deeply loved by the rest of his family. Zikel was many things to many people, he was a good friend, a hard-working colleague, and part of a large extended family, but ultimately, he was his mother’s son, his pride and joy. He held his bride’s heart in his hand and was a practical father to his darling children, the youngest only six weeks old. Zikel was happy and satisfied, he worked hard to support his family and was never happier than he was when he spent time with them.

Detectives from the Greater Manchester Police are searching for a second man who is believed to have escaped in a vehicle shortly after the shooting. Detective Superintendent Simon Hurst said: “Our thoughts are with Zikel’s loved ones at this heartbreaking time.” As our research continues, specially trained colleagues are supporting them. As of yesterday afternoon, we continue to build a detailed timeline of the events leading up to Zikel’s death and are pursuing a number of positive lines of inquiry. While we currently have one man in custody, work is underway to ensure those involved are brought to justice.
