Zachary Holston III, 50, was charged with second-degree murder and felony use of a handgun after allegedly killing Rita Evans in front of her husband and daughter on Friday, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. According to WDIV-TV, the siblings were feuding over their suburban Detroit soapmaking company, Kath Khemicals, where Holston functioned as CEO and Evans as CFO.
Evans, her husband, and their daughter allegedly accosted Holston in the parking lot at 9 a.m. and followed him as he attempted to get into his car. Prosecutors said a verbal argument over documentation Holston had in the car swiftly escalated into a violent brawl. Holston was also accused of pushing “away a young woman who was trying to get in between” the siblings. That’s when Holston and Evans allegedly drew their guns and “exchanged gunfire” — but only Evans was hit. ”
