Yzabella Perez, a 17-year-old girl who was shot in Yucaipa last weekend has died, authorities announced Friday. Girl dies after Yucaipa shooting that left man injured
The suspect(s) fled the scene and have yet to be apprehended. “Right now, we don’t have a lot of information on the suspect… the investigation is ongoing,” said Gloria Huerta, a spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Homicide investigators believe the event is isolated, but no motive for the shooting has been revealed.
“The detectives are looking for a dark colored 4-door vehicle that may have been involved,” Huerta explained. Perez was a senior at Yucaipa High School, getting ready for prom and graduation later this month. Her family is now begging for assistance in locating her assailant.
