Tony McClelland, a Minnesota man, has been arrested on murder charges in the hit-and-run death of his wife, weeks after the lifeless body of the mother of six was found dumped on the side of a road before dawn. Tony McClelland, 47, was arrested Monday night in connection with the June incident that led to the death of his wife of more than a decade, Angela McClelland, 49. The now-widowed husband faces charges of second-degree murder and criminal vehicular manslaughter, the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. Shortly after 5 a.m. m. On June 25, Angela McClelland was discovered dead near the intersection of Legend Road and Killian Road in Fort Ripley Township, where she lived with her husband. Authorities said the woman appeared to have been fatally struck by a vehicle, which apparently did not remain at the scene. So far, officials have remained silent on the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.

Arrested for Murder in Fatal Hit-and-Run of Wife Angela
Investigators said they had spent the past two weeks “following up on interviews and gathering evidence” that resulted in Tony McClelland’s arrest. They did not say what information specifically led them to the husband. McClelland remained in the county jail pending a court hearing. The 47-year-old man was convicted of DUI in 2006 and served 90 days in jail, according to court records cited by CBS News. Angela McClelland’s obituary revealed that the couple married in October 2011 at the world-famous Little White Chapel in Las Vegas and were “inseparable.” The couple, who had six children between them, shared a passion for travel, hunting, ice fishing, and generally being outdoors. “Angie especially loved spending quality time with Tony taking trips around that lake on her pontoon in the evenings,” the obituary read. The married mother was described as a “contradiction” who was sometimes “shy and quiet and at other times loud, eccentric and often the center of those who gathered around her”. “People naturally came to Angie,” she said.
