Tina Vital, 43, was killed in a horrific vehicle accident in Woodland, California, and the accident critically injured other family members, including a toddler. A 13-year-old kid who was driving “erratically” on College Street previous to the incident has been arrested. According to reports, the incident occurred on Thursday evening, April 6, when the child, who was driving a stolen black Honda vehicle, led police on a chase before colliding with a silver Toyota Camry driven by Tina Vital, a Woodland resident. Vital was driving along with her daughter, son, 24, and five-year-old granddaughter.

13-year-old suspect arrested
Vital was pronounced dead at the site, and ten individuals, including three children, were sent to the hospital, according to KCRA. Jhonny, a 24-year-old man, and his five-year-old child were reported to be in severe condition in the intensive care unit. According to accounts, the juvenile driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and fleeing police. Tina’s brother, Victor Ramirez, informed ABC 10 that family members were in critical but stable condition. The Woodland Police Department observed the Honda being driven recklessly previous to the incident, as well as the driver attempting to flee the scene. Due to his age, the boy’s identity has not been disclosed. He is currently being held at the Yolo County Juvenile Detention Center.

Prayers are with the victim’s family
Sgt Dallas Hyde of the Woodland Police Department expressed sympathies to the victim’s family during an interview with CBS Sacramento, saying, “It’s just a tragic event.” Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family.” “It’s very important that we teach our youth the rules of the road, how to be safe, and how to drive safely,” he said, emphasizing the necessity of driving education and safety, particularly for young drivers. Woodland is in shock and sadness following the horrible occurrence. “She was a wonderful neighbor, always kind and friendly,” said one of the victim’s neighbors, who asked to remain unnamed. We will miss her dearly.
Another local voiced concern about the driver’s age, stating, “It’s really scary to think that someone so young was driving and caused this kind of tragedy.” According to ABC 10, Vital had recently obtained a Class A license in order to drive a truck to support her family. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Tinas’ family, her funeral, and her small children with medical fees and care at a nearby hospital. The campaign has raised $14,901 against a goal of $12,000.
