On social media, people paid heartfelt condolences to the Beckton, East London, schoolgirl. Friends of the adolescent said she had been having a house party at a second-floor flat on Newham’s Tollgate Road. ‘It was anarchy,’ one neighbor told The Sun. The screams were piercing. It was terrifying. I heard screams for aid and watched someone leap from the third story. There’s a report that someone poured petrol through the letterbox to start it. It’s terrifying.’ The Met, along with the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade, were alerted to the blaze just after 5 p.m. and verified it was an arson attack. Tiffany was declared deceased on the scene. Five more people were hurt at the address. Their injuries were not life-threatening, and they were released from the hospital.
According to witnesses, numerous people within the apartment building jumped to safety, landing on a discarded mattress outside the building. Fire investigators suspect the fire was started using an accelerant, most likely petrol. Tiff was very nice,’ claimed one friend, who left a bouquet of flowers at the site. She was charming and caring.’ ‘So sad,’ one TikTok user wrote. We were standing outside the shop when her friend ran in, claiming she was inside and he was going to get her mother. My heart aches for her family. ‘Tiff, rest in peace.’
Raza Nowsin, 26, who manages a Lidl across the street from the fire, told MyLondon yesterday night that people were jumping out of windows to escape.’People were racing around everywhere,’ claimed the eyewitness.’They had a mattress there and were attempting to climb on it, but some people were unable to reach the mattress.’ The fire rose up really quickly, within a few seconds,’ said Rahina Begum, who lives opposite the flats. The entire building caught fire in 10 to 15 seconds, from the ground to the roof. ‘The flames were so intense. It’s heartbreaking to see someone die.’
‘It was total commotion yesterday afternoon,’ said a local who stood looking at the blackened and burnt building. ‘The screams were piercing. It was terrifying. ‘I saw someone jump from the third story and people screaming for rescue.’ ‘We’re heartbroken,’ remarked another. It’s simply horrible.’

Six fire engines and 40 firefighters were dispatched to extinguish the fires, which had taken hold of the first and second floors of the flats, according to fire officials. ‘My sympathies are with the victim and their family and friends at this time’, said Chief Superintendent Simon Crick. ‘Incidents like these send shockwaves through our communities, and I don’t underestimate the impact on the local community and beyond. ‘Over the Easter weekend, your officers will be on patrol in the immediate vicinity; please speak with them if you have any concerns.’
