A post-mortem examination found that Tiffany Regis died as a result of smoke inhalation. Tiffany Regis, a 15-year-old girl murdered in a fire at an east London block of flats, has been identified by police. Officers are treating last Thursday’s fire in Beckton, Newham, as arson. Five additional persons were hurt at the address and have since been released from the hospital. According to a post-mortem, Tiffany died from smoke inhalation.
While formal identification was not definitive, the Metropolitan Police stated that they believe Tiffany died. The family of the girl has been notified, and they are being assisted by expert officers. On Thursday, around 5.28 p.m., police were summoned to the Tollgate Road fire. They are still asking witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

“I know that there were a number of young people and residents inside the address before the fire happened,” Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said. “Our inquiries are ongoing to identify everyone who was there, not least to ensure that everyone is okay.” We are still in the early phases of our investigation and would like to hear from anyone who was present or has information but has yet to speak with authorities.
