Terry Bishop Wiki – Terry Bishop Biography
Family members have paid tribute to Good Samaritan Terry Bishop, 65, who has been named as the third victim of the fatal triple car crash on the Bruce Highway last week.
The 65-year-old man from Hay Point, near Mackay, was killed when his car collided head-on with another car in Federal early Friday morning. Police allege a stolen vehicle caused the accident, which killed the grandfather and two mothers. Mr. Bishop was driving from Mackay to Brisbane for a family wedding when he stopped to pick up 25-year-old Yandean woman Gypsy Satterley, who was seeking help. Police say the vehicle was allegedly chased and struck in oncoming traffic by the stolen SUV around 4 a.m. Mr. Bishop’s car collided with another car driven by Jessica Townley, 38.
All three people were killed, while the driver of the allegedly stolen car was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. Mr. Bishop’s torn-apart family say they hope the publication of his photograph will bring more witnesses to come forward. “Our family is absolutely devastated,” they said in a statement. Mr. Bishop was retired and a long-term resident of Northgate in Brisbane. Ms. Satterley’s family hailed Mr. Bishop a “hero” for trying to help his daughter, a mother of two girls. “Gypsy’s parents are very grateful to the man who stopped to help her,” they wrote in a statement. In a tribute posted online, Ms. Townley was described as an “animal-loving fiancée” and stepmother of two, who “didn’t stop until the sun went down”. Police have said that Mr. Rolfe was in a relationship with Ms. Satterley. Officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
Terry Bishop was 65 years old.
