Teresa Hanson, A woman has been found guilty of murdering her husband, who was stabbed in the chest with a kitchen knife while she made tea. Teresa Hanson, 54, claimed she had “accidentally” stabbed Paul Hanson while he was chopping onions at his East Yorkshire home last Christmas. Hanson, also 54, died at the house on Little London Lane, West Cowick, near Snaith, on December 28, 2022. A jury at Hull Crown Court convicted Hanson of murder.

Found guilty of murdering husband after retrial
It took the jury less than three hours to reach a verdict, which was greeted with cries and screams in the public gallery when it was delivered by the foreman. Judge John Thackray told the former hairdresser she would be sentenced on October 3. Hanson, who was free on bail throughout the trial, is in custody. The trial heard the couple had a “long and happy marriage” but on the night of Hanson’s death, his wife stabbed him in anger following an argument while he was making tea. Hanson claimed to police that her husband “bumped into a knife she was holding” while she was preparing food after he told her she didn’t want tea and to throw it away, the jury heard. She also told the court that she “had no reason to stab” her husband and that she had no idea why he had been injured. The jury also heard her admit that she offered two paramedics £1,000 each to save her husband.
