Police found suspicious human remains in bushland in northeast Tasmania while searching for missing 14-year-old Shyanne-Lee Tatnell. The discovery was made today during an extensive ground and air search for the teenager, who was last seen in Launceston nearly three months ago. On Wednesday, Tasmanian Police and SES officers launched a massive search near the rural town of Nabowla, northeast of Launceston. In a statement issued Wednesday night, police said they had found what they believed to be human remains.

Shyanne-Lee Tatnell Missing: Suspicious human remains found during search
“The remains were located on a brush track during an extensive ground and air search in connection with the disappearance of a 14-year-old boy on April 30, 2023,” police said. “Police have been in regular contact with Xian Li’s family throughout the investigation process, and our thoughts are with them and their loved ones at this difficult time.” A crime scene was declared at a property in Scottsdale, as well as a scene near Nabula, with “extensive forensic examinations” underway, police said. Police said they were “following a specific line of inquiry, however no charges have been filed at this stage.”
