Shavon Pearson, a Florida high school teacher has been arrested for fentanyl trafficking after a motorist accused her of waving a gun during a highway dispute, according to police. Shavon Pearson, 38, an educator at Seminole High School, was taken into custody after police received a 911 call from her shocked victim early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Accused of trafficking fentanyl
Arriving officers later saw a marijuana joint in plain sight in Pearson’s vehicle, and a search turned up 8 grams of fentanyl, double the amount she qualifies for a drug offense, authorities said. The 16-year education veteran, who taught ninth-grade students, has since been placed on administrative leave, according to WESH.
“We don’t have any information or evidence to indicate that this is something that she brought to campus, or that any type of drug transaction occurred on campus,” a district spokesperson told the outlet. According to an arrest report, Pearson claimed that she was set up, a notion that responding officers strongly rejected. “Teachers are people that, as parents, we put in positions of trust,” police told WESH. “She has absolutely violated that trust.”
