Investigation Report

Sheila Simmons, the fatal victim’s sister, told WGN-TV that she last spoke to her sister on Thursday. Early Saturday she was told that Myrtle and Sergio Brown were missing. “We are going to find out what happened because it is not normal for my sister not to answer the phone, she does not respond to text messages. People have been approaching her since Friday. No one was able to locate her,” Simmons told the station. “Now I got the call this morning saying she was missing, so I immediately came here and found out my sister was dead.” Former safety Sergio Brown appeared in 94 games, including with the New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. He played in the league from 2010 to 2016. The Notre Dame alum played high school at Proviso East High School in Maywood, a Chicago suburb. Nick Brown, Sergio’s brother, urged him to return home in a Facebook post, the Chicago Tribune reported. “I want you to know that I love you and please come home,” Nick Brown wrote.
