Secret Pierce, a 12-year-old Connecticut girl, died after being shot in the head during a drive-by shooting that also injured three other individuals, according to authorities.
Secret Pierce, a student at Hartford’s Thurman L. Milner Middle School, was inside a vehicle when gunfire rang out at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, striking her and three other persons, according to the Connecticut Post. The secret was hit in the head and taken to Saint Francis Hospital in severe condition, but she died at 7 a.m. Friday, according to authorities.
“Today is a difficult day in our community,” Mayor Luke Bronin said to reporters. “I don’t know what to say to Secret’s mother and close ones… that we are all very sad. That we are with them today in their sadness, prayer, and love.” He claimed the three other guys had “extensive firearm involvement and criminal history,” and he urged them to collaborate with authorities since they knew who opened fire. It is not acceptable not to share the information you know about who took the life of a 12-year-old girl,” the mayor stated. “That is not fair to her family, not fair to her loved ones, not fair to her memory, and not fair to our community.”

Connecticut drive-by shooting results in the death of 12-year-old girl after she was shot in the head
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert, authorities do not believe the shooters were targeting Secret. At this point, it appears that the 12-year-old girl had nothing to do with the incident and was not the intended target,” according to Boisvert.
