Sara Nowak, 42, – Several hours after bidding her spouse farewell, a Wisconsin woman was killed in a car accident.
According to CBS station WDJT-TV, Sara Nowak died in a car accident on April 1 approximately five hours after attending the burial of her late husband Louis, who passed away from cancer on March 19. Patricia Cartwright, the girl’s mother, told the publication, “I don’t think she could be without him.” That means she is with him. Her father, Randal Cartwright, continued, “It’s really hard because you get done and then five and a half hours later, you receive a phone saying that your daughter was in an accident. Sara “went to visit Louis in heaven,” as a friend put it in a comment on a GoFundMe page created to aid the couple’s family.

Wisconsin mother dies in a car accident
According to ABC affiliate WKOW, deputies arrived at the scene of the single-vehicle collision on State Highway 106 near Calkins Road in Palmyra just before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to Jefferson County Sheriff Paul Milbrath, their initial investigation revealed that the driver lost control of the car, which then went into a ditch and flipped. Both occupants died at the site, but one was ejected from the car. According to WDJT-TV, who also reported that the inquiry is still underway, Sara was identified as the passenger.
A request for comment from PEOPLE was not immediately answered by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. According to WDJT-TV, Louis received a cancer diagnosis six months before he passed away. The 54-year-old was described in his obituary as someone who “enjoyed time with family and friends, tinkering on engines & motors, going to swap meets, camping, classic cars, and classic rock music.”
In his obituary, it was stated that Louie “would always be there to lend a helping hand, or to have a great conversation.” According to WDJT-TV, who also reported that the inquiry is still underway, Sara was identified as the passenger.
