Ryan Fournier, co-founder of Students for Trump, was arrested in North Carolina last week on charges of hitting a woman in the head with a gun, records show. Fournier, 27, allegedly grabbed the woman by her right arm and struck her in the forehead with a Sig Sauer P229 9mm handgun, according to the Johnson County magistrate. The victim, identified by Axios as Fournier’s girlfriend, suffered a minor injury in the alleged attack. Fournier was arrested on Nov. 21 and faces two misdemeanor charges of assault on a female and assault with a deadly weapon. He was released on $2,500 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on December 18.

Fournier co-founded the youth political group during former President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign when he was a student at Campbell University. Trump headlined a Students for Trump event at a megachurch in Phoenix, Arizona, in June 2020. Fournier now leads a group called Radical Alert, which claims to be “exposing” the hate that has “taken over American college campuses.” He did not respond to the Post’s request for comment. John Lambert, co-founder of Students for Trump with Fournier, was sentenced to 13 months in prison in May 2021 for posing as a lawyer to steal money from his victims. Lambert pleaded guilty to wire fraud and was ordered to forfeit more than $46,000 and pay more than $21,000 in restitution to his victims.
