Rudy Lazo Wiki – Rudy Lazo Biography
Rudy Lazo, 79, of California, was savagely battered to death while giving money to needy families in Tijuana, Mexico, according to his relatives.
Rudy Lazo was beaten to death during an apparent robbery in mid-April, not long after the US State Department warned Americans against traveling to Mexico due to an increase in kidnappings and homicides in places surrounding Tijuana, according to his bereaved son and daughter on Saturday. He was always a very generous person, and he helped anyone out,” his son, Juan Carlos Lazo, told the source. Rudy would frequently travel the three hours from his home in San Bernadino to Tijuana to provide food, clothing, toys, and other supplies to individuals in need, according to his relatives.
Rudy settled down with his family and worked as a truck driver after moving to the United States from El Salvador in the 1980s, but he was constantly looking for ways to help others in need. Rudy’s family got anxious when he became unreachable via phone on April 18. The next day, Mexican police informed his family that his remains had been discovered. Juan Carlos drove from San Bernadino to Tijuana, 125 miles, to identify his father’s remains. He said his father was severely beaten to death and that he was slain during a heist. He didn’t earn it. “No, no human deserves this,” Juan Carlos stated.

Rudy’s personal belongings, including his truck, were never discovered. According to his relatives, no arrests have been made by Mexican police. Claudia Hernandez, his daughter, recalls her father frequently assuring his children that he felt protected while giving donations in Tijuana. “It’s extremely dangerous over there.” “It’s so dangerous, and he probably thought he wouldn’t have any problems because he’s a senior citizen,” she said. Hernandez posted touching footage of her father distributing contributions, writing, “Just to see him in the videos is beautiful.”
Rudy was so committed to helping folks in Tijuana that he had planned to help establish a community center there, according to his relatives. His body will be returned to El Salvador to be buried beside his loved ones. His death comes as the United States has issued sweeping travel advisories to Americans against visiting Mexico, including Baja California. The State Department cautioned in February that “violent crime, such as homicide, kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery, is widespread and common in Mexico.” Because travel by US government employees to certain areas of Mexico is prohibited or restricted, the US government has limited ability to provide emergency services to US citizens in many areas of Mexico.” Local emergency services are sometimes limited outside of the state capital or large cities in many states.”
