Ruby Franke and Jodi Nan Hildebrandt Wiki – Biography
Ruby Franke and her business partner Jodi Nan Hildebrandt were arrested in Ivins, Utah on Wednesday. Authorities also found Franke’s 10-year-old daughter in a malnourished condition at her partner’s home. Ms. Franke and her business associate face two felony counts of child abuse. The BBC has contacted Franke and Hildebrandt for comment. Police say Franke’s 12-year-old son climbed out of the window and ran to a neighbor’s house to ask for food and water. “The person he called [the neighbor] stated that the boy appeared to be emaciated and malnourished, with open wounds and duct tape around his extremities,” according to a statement from the Santa-Clara Ivins Department of Public Safety. “Upon his arrival, law enforcement observed that the [boy’s] injuries and malnutrition were serious,” the statement said. The boy had to be taken to the hospital “due to his deep lacerations from being tied up with ropes and his malnutrition.” Franke’s 10-year-old daughter was also taken to hospital.

8 Passengers YouTuber charged with child abuse
Officials later obtained a search warrant in connection with the incident, and in all, four children were placed in the care of children and family services, the statement said. Franke, 41, became famous on YouTube in 2015 for her channel called 8 Passengers, which talked about raising her six children. The channel earned more than 2 million subscribers before it was deactivated earlier this year. The vlogger has faced backlash in the past for her strict parenting measures outlined on the channel, including her son claiming he slept on a bean bag for several months as punishment and Ms Franke describing withholding meals as another disciplinary measure. The beanbag incident prompted some viewers to call local child protective services, though Franke told Insider that the incident had been taken out of context. She has also been featured in YouTube videos posted by Ms. Hildebrandt, a counselor and life coach, on her site, ConneXions Classroom.
In one such video posted on May 10, 2022, Franke described herself as Hildebrandt’s “side kick” and wondered why so many children suffered from depression. “I never expected my second grader to come home and say so-and-so has anxiety and so-and-so has depression,” she said. “Something is wrong. This is not right.” In a second video, titled “guiding children to the truth,” Hildebrandt asked mothers to “understand that principles are necessary” for children to have a “calm and peaceful” life. According to a Salt Lake Tribune report, Ms. Hildebrandt was placed on 18-month probation and she nearly lost her license to be a porn addiction therapist after speaking publicly about a patient without her permission. Franke’s eldest daughter, Shari Franke, shared a post on Instagram after her mother’s arrest, saying that she and her family “are very happy that justice is being done,” US media reported. “We have been trying to inform the police and CPS for years about this, and we are so glad they have finally decided to come forward,” she allegedly said. Franke requested a lawyer and did not speak to officers, according to the Associated Press. That attorney had not been publicly identified Thursday.
