Rohan Shand, known as ‘Fred’ to his friends and family, who died following an incident near Kingsthorpe College in Northampton on Wednesday.
The first images have been released of a 16-year-old boy who was stabbed to death while walking home from school. Tributes arrived today for him. Four men aged 49, 21, 16 and 14 remained in custody today after being arrested in connection with last night’s incident.

Trained officers are supporting Fred’s family
Northamptonshire Police officers have asked people not to share photos or images of the incident, which took place around 3:35 p.m. m. on Harborough Road, or its aftermath.
Specially trained officers are supporting Fred’s family, and the police have asked that his privacy be respected. “[They] are naturally devastated by what happened,” added a police spokesperson.
Principal Investigating Officer Det Insp Simon Barnes said: “Our thoughts continue to be with Fred’s family and friends as they try to come to terms with his death.
“This is an exceptionally sad and tragic incident and has understandably had a huge impact on the neighborhood and the community at large, and we know that people are very shocked and upset by what happened.

Anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak
“Our officers remain in the Kingsthorpe area and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to them as they will be happy to help. We would also appeal again to anyone who may have information and has yet come forward to do so.
“If you have private CCTV footage or a dash cam, we’d like to hear from you. His archival material may provide valuable information that could help us reconstruct what happened at the time of Fred’s attack.”
