Rebecca Stockton, a Tennessee woman was found shot to death in her Murfreesboro apartment Crossing around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night Stockton was pronounced dead at the scene and her boyfriend was arrested in Kentucky on charges of her murder.
Murfreesboro police said a preliminary investigation indicates Rebecca Stockton and Shaleem Hamilton, 41, may have argued Wednesday night, WKRN reported. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots, police said.

Shaleem Hamilton Arrested for Allegedly Shooting
Police arrived at the scene around 9:30 p.m. and found Stockton dead in the living room. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division were able to develop leads and issued an alert looking for a suspect. An officer with the Corbin, Kentucky Police Department located Hamilton at a gas station in Corbin. The suspect was approached and arrested. Hamilton is charged with first degree murder.
Investigators said they found a handgun matching the one used in the Murfreesboro murder and other evidence. Corbin police charged Jim with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of a defaced firearm. He is being held in Kentucky until he can be extradited to Rutherford County.
