A body was discovered in a river in Lincolnshire on Friday while searching for Oliwier, a missing schoolboy, according to authorities.
Oliwier, 15, was last seen near the bank of the River Trent at The Flood Road bridge in Gainsborough late Monday evening, according to police. Over the next three days, police conducted a “round-the-clock effort” to find him. Officers reported searching abandoned structures along the river, as well as surrounding trails, vegetation, and farmer’s fields. However, a body was found in the water by police combing a section of the Trent near Gainsborough – approximately 300 meters from the town’s Flood Road bridge. “We are saddened to report that this afternoon we recovered a body,” a Lincolnshire Police spokesman said. We cannot confirm that it is Oliwier at this time because no formal identification has been performed.”
The death is presently being investigated as unexplained, and the force has stated that it is in contact with the coroner. Oliwier’s family has been kept up to date on the newest developments. “Our thoughts are with them at this most difficult of times,” the statement continued.
