North Myrtle Beach minor plane crash – On Sunday, a small plane crashed at a golf course in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, killing three people and injuring one. The accident happened at about 11.20 a.m. at the Barefoot Resort and Golf Club. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, it featured a single-engine Piper PA-32 with four persons on board. Smoke was seen coming from the golf course near the posh Barefoot Landing enclave in photos and videos shared online. A city dispatcher told the Sun News it remains an ‘active scene’ as the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board investigate the fatal crash.

Officer Pat Wilkinson told WPDE that a 911 call came in at 11:18 a.m., and North Myrtle Beach fire and police responded. When they arrived, they found the small plane engulfed in flames, and Wilkinson said crews immediately began attempting to put it out. He went on to say that at least one person died at the site and another was transferred to a nearby hospital. One man on Twitter described the plane crash, saying he and his wife observed the plane spiralling downwards while parked at a red light. ‘I pointed it out to my wife, and the smoke was billowing in seconds,’ he wrote. ‘Emergency vehicles raced past. ‘All of this happened while we sat waiting for the light.’
