Nicola Bradley and Tracy Dixon Wiki – Nicola Bradley and Tracy Dixon Biography
Nicola Bradley, 35, and Tracy Dixon, 47, sprayed Paul Crooks’ beloved pet Sparky with cleaning products and put her in a dryer before snapping her neck. They were jailed on Tuesday for 25 months at Carlisle Crown Court after being found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. The magistrates previously heard Mr Crooks cry after the bird’s death, which would entertain him with renditions of the national anthem and the Coronation Street theme song. Prosecutor Daniel Bramhall said at today’s sentencing hearing that the cruel couple daubed the bird in glitter paint and covered it in shaving foam and Mr Muscle nail polish. She was then thrown into a running dryer before one of them, said in court to be Bradley, snapped her neck. Leaving the house where they did this, they told Sparky’s unsuspecting owner that they had “laughed wetly”, although they did not say why.
Judge Richard Archer told the two women: ‘You together sadistically tortured and essentially killed Sparky. ‘The way in which that animal was caused to suffer is shocking. ‘It was about spraying it with cleaning products; he involved painting her with paint; and involved beating her with a dish towel. “It involved putting her in a dryer and turning it on, and once the dryer door opened and Sparky was gasping for the last breath from him, one of you touched his neck.” The women made no effort to explain to Mr Crooks why they had done what they did and tried to blame each other, the court heard. Jack Troupe, on behalf of Bradley, said he stood by his denial of wrongdoing. Dixon’s Anthony Parkinson said the character references referred to her having a kinder attitude towards animals than the offense suggested.

Two women jailed for torturing and killing pet parrot in Carlisle
She had taken in rescued animals and cared for them in the past, the attorney told the court. The judge added: “Frankly, it is beyond comprehension how anyone could treat an animal in this way, let alone in your case, Ms. Dixon, someone who is said to have taken animals in, rescued them, and subjected them to suffering hands of others”. ‘ Mr. Parkinson continued: “She maintains that her co-defendant was the principal offender in this case, but she accepts the verdict of the magistrate’s court.” During the trial before the magistrates, Crooks described his horror at finding Sparky dead shortly after Bradley and Dixon left his home on July 30 last year. He had allowed the women, who had enjoyed a drunken night together in Carlisle, Cumbria, to stay at his house after driving them from the center of town. Describing his pet, Crooks said Sparky was a gift from a former partner and had lived with him for five years. Everyone loved her and waited to see her, he said. Ever since her bird was killed, she had suffered from panic attacks and sleepless nights.
He said of Sparky: ‘She used to sing a regimental march, combined with God Save the Queen and the theme tunes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale. “It was a hit with my friends, as I would start singing when I was on video calls with them all over the world.” He told the court that Dixon called him at 5.30 am on the morning in question because they couldn’t get a taxi home after a night out. He took them, but he went to bed soon after bringing the woman home because she had been working all week. The women were drunk, he said. When she woke up at 8.30 a.m. m. and she went to the kitchen to make some coffee, Bradley told her that she would be “frothing” with them while she looked over at Sparky’s cage. Judge Archer said that he had seen the photo of Sparky after his death, in which he was “unrecognizable”. And he added: “This is a case where proper punishment can only be achieved through immediate custody.” “If an immediate prison sentence was not warranted or necessary for the deliberate and sadistic torture to death of an animal, then one cannot imagine a case where it would be appropriate to impose an immediate prison sentence.”
