Nelson Montgomery, 39, is believed to have been injured by a sharp object he was holding when he grabbed the staff member who sustained two superficial cuts.Montgomery was aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Atlanta to New Orleans on Wednesday when the incident occurred.A passenger on board told Fox 8 that he told other passengers that he would “cut her head off” if anyone got close.Since then he has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct. A mugshot provided by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office shows Montgomery wearing a bandage around his neck after the blast.WVUE-TV, a Fox affiliate in New Orleans, reported that Montgomery was bleeding profusely from his neck.One passenger said he was holding what appeared to be a shard of broken glass to the flight attendant’s neck and threatening to hurt her if anyone got too close.

Delta passenger threatened to cut off flight attendant’s head
The outlet reported that he told the other passengers that he would “cut off her head”, before eight people on board managed to subdue him.A passenger told WVUE-TV, “Next thing I know, she’s choked from the rear and he has a shot glass down his throat.”He had already slit his throat. He was already bleeding when he got to the front.”There was a trail of blood on the seats where he was touching the seats when he passed.” Another passenger on the Airbus A321 plane, Raquel Davis, told The Times-Picayune that she was impressed that the crew kept the rest of the passengers calm.Davis said: ‘It’s amazing that no one was making a fuss. It was weird in a good way.Montgomery was treated at a hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, and was later booked into the parish jail.The flight attendant was treated at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.Delta said the plane was received by police after “a reported customer issue.”An airline spokesperson said: ‘Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior on our aircraft and at our airports.”Nothing is more important than the safety of our people and our customers.”
