Nathan Vikatos, 45, the suspect – A youngster who was allegedly stabbed to death by his father was remembered by his family as a ‘beautiful boy’ who ‘liked trucks and diggers’.
On Wednesday afternoon, the body of Alexis Vikatos, 3, was discovered in a residence in Riverwood, southwest Sydney. Vikatos suffered major knife injuries that police think were self-inflicted and was brought to St George Hospital for emergency surgery. He was accused of his son’s suspected murder and was denied bail.

Alexis Vikatos, 3, stabbed to death in Riverwood, Tributes
Family members have expressed their shock and horror over Alexis’s tragic death. One relative told The Daily Telegraph: ‘What has happened is just tragic… but we don’t want it to overshadow what a beautiful boy Alexis was.’ He was always happy…he loved trucks and diggers…we are all heartbroken,’ the person commented.
Another devastated loved one posted a tribute to the little boy on the Facebook page, saying ‘you are now an angel in heaven’. Alexis’s mother, Jessica Marett, died in early 2021 shortly after giving birth. The father then moved the pair to the Central Coast and allegedly cut off contact with her side of the family.
Elizabeth Risbridger, who babysat Alexis, said she was ‘broken’ after hearing the news. He called me Mum…while I babysat him, he excelled at speech and confidence,’ she claimed. Ms. Risbridger said she ‘liked’ babysitting the young child and spent hours at the beach with him and her dog. After learning of Alexis’ terrible demise, Ms. Marett’s relatives have asked that his body be buried close to his mother. His late mother was described by relatives as a supportive, affectionate’ woman.
