Morgan Olphert, 18, An inquest heard that an adolescent passed away unexpectedly the day after using a “small amount” of cocaine at a party.
On June 12, 2022, Morgan Olphert passed out in his residence in Heol Ty Gwyn, Maesteg, close to Bridgend in Wales. Mr. Olphert had an irregular heart rhythm and collapsed at home, according to an inquest at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court. Sadly, he was beyond saving, and at the scene, a coroner declared him dead.
The night before his death, the 18-year-old reportedly consumed a “little amount” of cocaine, which the coroner believes may have contributed to his heart-stopping. It was also mentioned that Mr. Olphert might have had a heart issue in the background. Post-mortem examinations, however, failed to support this.

The night before his death, Morgan procured cocaine and voluntarily consumed a tiny amount of it at a party, according to Ms. Morgan. According to post-mortem examinations, Morgan probably experienced an abrupt cardiac arrhythmia. In his report at the inquest at Pontypridd, South Wales, the coroner provided a narrative conclusion. Cocaine may have contributed to the development of the abrupt arrhythmia, but a heart ailment that was not apparent at the time of the post-mortem remains a possibility, the expert said. Despite extensive examination, “this death remained essentially inexplicable.” The medical cause of death listed by her for Mr. Olphert was 1a. Sudden arrhythmic death associated with cocaine use.
