Maksym Galinichev Wiki – Maksym Galinichev Biography
Maksym Galinichev, 22, a Ukrainian European boxing champion, died fighting for his country against the invading forces of Vladimir Putin.
Galinichev is believed to have been serving with the Ukrainian 25th Sycheslav Airborne Brigade in the Lugansk region, where he was killed. Ukrainian government adviser Anton Gerashchenko confirmed his death on social media. He wrote: “22-year-old Maksym, European youth boxing champion, died defending Ukraine in the Luhansk region. Maksym volunteered and returned to the front twice after being wounded and recovering.” Several tributes have been received for the boxer, who put his career aside to volunteer in the military last year.

The GB Boxing team wrote on Twitter: “Everyone at GB Boxing is saddened to learn of the tragic passing of 22-year-old European Junior Champion from Ukraine, Maksym Galinichev. Our thoughts and prayers are with Maksym’s friends and family at this devastating time.” Fellow Olympian Vladyslav Heraskevych also praised Galinichev for ‘giving his life’ for Ukraine, adding: “Glory to the hero.”
One Twitter user wrote: “Rest in peace Maksym Galinichev, you are a hero, thank you for your life, help Ukrainians to be victorious thanks to your powerful soul.”
Another added: “Rest in heavenly peace Hero Maksym Galinichev. We are forever in your debt. Heroyam Slava
And a third said: “Maksym, a true hero who died for freedom and to be remembered. Condolences to his family and friends.” Galinichev is believed to have been killed in the Luhansk region of Ukraine and left behind a three-year-old daughter.
