Magdalena Zalinska Wiki – Bio

Magdalena Zalinska, A nightclub boss accused of swindling her banker boyfriend out of £4 million has been found dead.

Magdalena Zalinska was at the center of a High Court battle with Danny Truell’s family after they claimed she obtained the millions through “undue influence” before he died. Truell’s brother, Edi, 61, claims that she was his paid carer since 2012 and that she did not live with him.

Body was found in a Clapham apartment

The former Goldman Sachs banker died of a neurological condition aged 55 in 2019, leaving him more than £1m in her will. In her will, he described Magdalena as her “partner and dependent”. The case has since taken a mysterious turn after her body was found in a Clapham apartment she rented from Mr Truell, MailOnline reports.

Truell worked for Goldman Sach’s after studying at Balliol College in Oxford, where he frequently debated former Prime Minister Boris Johnson. In 2005, he joined the Wellcome Trust charity as an investment manager. He divorced his wife Naomi in 2011 and the following year was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which later developed into a form of motor neurone disease.

Earlier court hearing

In an earlier court hearing, Judge Michael Green said Truell lived a “frugal lifestyle” despite being wealthy. The court battle centered on a series of transfers to her before she died. These included £1.34 million paid to her nightclub company, a further £915,000 sent directly to her, and £1.36 million in spending and withdrawals on her debit card.

Truell also transferred her interest in the Clapham flat to him. At a hearing earlier this year, Judge Michael Green said Magdalena was “justly, in my opinion, offended by any suggestion that she did not have a deep and loving relationship with the deceased, or that she had taken advantage of him.”

Magdalena was found after concerns were raised about her well-being. A Met Police spokesperson told the Mirror: “Police on routine patrol were approached at around 3:58pm on Saturday March 11 by persons concerned for the welfare of an occupant at a residential address in Lavender Gardens SW11.

“Officers forced their way inside and found a woman dead. Her next of kin have been informed. “The death is being treated as unexpected, although initial investigations determined it was not suspicious. The coroner has been informed.” A full judgment on the £4 million was set for next year.
