Mack Varnum and Nichole Cloutier are accused of kidnapping a woman when binding her on adhesive tape, restricting her for hours until they left her alone and she managed to escape. Mack Varnum, 45, and Nichole Cloutier, 36, were arrested on Friday, according to Vermont state police.
The authorities in the city of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, responded on Thursday to Bay Street “for a woman’s report in a vehicle that had his hands tied along with adhesive tape and his head partially covered with a bag and adhesive tape,” Cops said.

Woman tied with duct tape in a truck

The detectives and the soldiers found the defendants in the house of Varnum and arrested them without incident, said the police. Varnum and Cloutier were retained without bail at the Northeast Regional Correctional Center, authorities said. They are scheduled for a position reading to take place on Monday at 1 p.m.
Varnum is accused of attempted first -degree murder, kidnapping, illegal restriction in the first degree and aggravated domestic assault. More intense kidnapping, illegal restriction in the first degree and aggravated assault.
