Lindsey Bauer, 46, a teacher ousted from the profession after sexually texting a student at an all-boys primary school, now works at the University of Bristol. Lindsey Bauer who once shared photos of her meeting Prince William and Princess Kate during an official royal visit to the Isles of Scilly is now studying for a Ph.D. and teaching part-time at University.
The Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) found that Ms. Bauer had “abused her teaching position” of her during private communications with a student while she was at Colyton Primary School in Exeter. The allegations took place between 2018 and 2022 and included “making inappropriate advances, suggesting face-to-face meetings, and communicating with the student without good reason about matters that were not related to the curriculum.
The TRA found that “Ms. Bauer was guilty of unacceptable professional conduct and conduct that may bring the profession into disrepute. The panel found that her communications with the student were “sexually motivated. Ms. Bauer denied that the actions were sexually motivated, but the panel stated that the allegations were proven and recommended an “indefinite ban”.

In May last year, the TRA banned him from teaching for at least five years, but the report and results were only released on March 1 this year. The ban does not cover work at universities. A Bristol University spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Lindsey Bauer has discussed the misconduct panel results with us. She is a Ph.D. student here, and as is common practice for graduate students, she also has a part-time teaching assistant role within the university.
It was reported that Ms. Bauer, an Oxford graduate, had successfully put in place a court order preventing certain information from being published, but this was later overturned. Colyton Grammar said the school had launched the investigation and a former employee had received a banning order from the TRA.
