A woman died after eating supposedly poisoned chocolate she received for her birthday. Lindaci Viegas Batista de Carvalho received flowers and tasty delicacies from an unknown person to commemorate her auspicious day. The 54-year-old woman then ate the chocolate and died soon after. Her family is now convinced she was poisoned.
After consuming the chocolates, the victim’s eyes rolled back and her arms contracted, according to her sister Lenice Batista. She went on to explain that when they arrived at the hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Ms. Carvalho was pronounced dead and that her son, who had also tried the chocolate, spat it out, saying it tasted horrible.

Dies after eating ‘poisoned’ chocolates delivered to her by an unknown source
Police are currently investigating the poisoning charges, and the chocolates will be analyzed within 30 days. In the days leading up to the incident, the woman’s relatives claimed she had been threatened on social media. She apparently received a questionable call last Saturday informing her that there was a delivery for her, so she requested that the parcel be put at her boyfriend’s store.
According to the Daily Star, Ms. Carvalho brought the chocolates to a beauty salon but refused to consume them until she established a connection. Lindaci ate part of the chocolates after her ex-husband accepted responsibility for sending the present. Following her murder, Ms. Carvalho’s ex-husband claimed he was kidding when he stated he sent the gift, and the victim’s sister said she did not suspect him because the former pair had a nice relationship.
