Lance Reddick, the latest update on the death case, an American actor known for his roles in The Wire and the John Wick franchise, has passed away at the age of 60.
The son of Dorothy Gee and Solomon Reddick, Lance was born in Baltimore, Maryland, where he attended the private Quaker Friends School of Baltimore. He then went on to study music at Peabody Preparatory Institute, before moving on to acting. In the early ’90s, Reddick attended the Yale School of Drama, eventually receiving a Master of Fine Arts in 1994. Despite landing high-profile roles on TV shows like The Wire, Reddick managed to keep his private life out of the limelight.

Reddick, who played Cedric Daniels on the hit TV series, is believed to have died of natural causes, law enforcement officials told TMZ. Tributes poured in for the ‘incredibly talented’ actor after his body was reportedly discovered at his Studio City, Calif., home at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Just yesterday he uploaded a photo of himself snuggling up with his three dogs at home to an Instagram post about National Puppy Day. Reddick was in the middle of a promotional tour for his John Wick franchise in which he played the janitor Charon. On Wednesday night he was supposed to attend the Wick 4 premiere with his co-star Keanu Reaves, but he didn’t show up. Reddick did not explain his absence. He was also reportedly scheduled to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show next week. DailyMail.com has reached out to the actor’s representatives for comment.

He wrote: “On screen and off, it’s no wonder I love pampering my dogs.” And three days ago he shared a video of himself happily singing ‘and the beat goes on’ while his canines bark in the background.
Reddick will be best remembered for his role as Daniels on HBO’s hit crime series The Wire, appearing in all 60 episodes alongside stars like Dominic West and Idris Elba. He also had recurring roles on the hit TV shows Fringe, Oz, Bosch, and Lost and was the voice of Commander Zavala in the Destiny video games. And he made cameo appearances in the Blockbuster movies Godzilla Vs. Kong and Angel Have Fallen. He is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddic, his daughter Yvonne Nicole Redick and his son Christopher Reddick.
