Tributes have flooded in for Kyle Barrow, a British tourist who died after slamming into a palm tree on a motor scooter in Turkey during what was allegedly his “first holiday abroad.”
Kyle Barrow, affectionately known as Keezy, died after losing control of his motorbike in Manavgat, Antalya province, on Turkey’s southern coast. The 27-year-old Manchester man was apparently traveling from the Side beach town to Kumkoy, about 30 miles away. Photographs show the scooter lying next to the palm tree after the Side Suleyman Demirel Boulevard crash.
Medics were called to the scene, and Kyle was rushed to hospital by ambulance, later dying. His heartbroken best friend claimed Kyle passed away in his arms on Wednesday. Friends described him as a ‘legend’, ‘one in a million’, and the ‘spine of every group, the man that brought us all together’, as they revealed touching tattoo tributes remembering Kyle’s life. Cal Junior and his pals Kyle had been on vacation when he remembered the young man by the dates of his birth and untimely death. Cal raised funds for Kyle’s return to Oldham through GoFundMe and published a touching homage to his late buddy on Facebook.

‘It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that Kyle was involved in an accident this afternoon and his life has regrettably been lost. We’re in Turkey, and I’m doing my best to figure out what I need to do next, but I’ll keep everyone updated as soon as I can. RIP my best friend for life, passed away in my arms… gone too soon… we will meet again one day boo boo… the memories will last forever.’
Another friend, Tay Nolan, revealed his sadness at Kyle’s death: ‘Absolutely no words… my heart hurts so much just as I know it does for everyone else. ‘Love and support to everyone who is going through this right now, including family, friends, and loved ones, especially Cal Junior.’Keezy, you were one in a million… I’ve treasured every minute I’ve known you, you always made me laugh even when you made me cry, I’ll never forget you… rest easy.’
Kyle allegedly lost control of the vehicle while crossing a crossroads on the boulevard and collided with a palm tree on a central reservation that separated each side of the avenue. Side, on Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coast, is a famous tourist resort. ‘We are aiding the family of a British guy who died in Turkey, and we are in communication with the local authorities,’ said an FCDO representative.
