Kirsty Ann Islip, 28, was allegedly driving a ute on the Great Western Highway in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, despite her license having been disqualified, when she crashed into two vehicles on Thursday. Islip, from Bathurst in the state’s central west, first crashed into two cars. and she allegedly did not provide her information to the other drivers. She continued her journey and shortly before 4.30pm she allegedly collided with a third car, a Toyota Yaris, as she passed through Mount Victoria. Paramedics rushed to the scene where they treated the 52-year-old driver and airlifted her to Westmead Hospital in critical condition.

Crashed into a THIRD car leaving a woman fighting for her life
Islip and the girl were treated for minor injuries before being taken to Katoomba Hospital, where the 28-year-old also underwent mandatory tests. Detectives established a crime scene at the crash site and searched the van, where they allegedly found drugs. After Islip was released from hospital, she was arrested and charged with eight offenses and was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Friday. Islip has been charged with driving while disqualified, possession of a prohibited drug, dangerous driving causing serious bodily injury, careless driving causing serious bodily injury and driving with a child without a seat belt. His other charges include failing to stop and assist after a serious accident and two counts of failing to give her details to another driver. Islip appeared in court via video link on Friday, where she was again refused bail. The matter was adjourned until September 29.
