Kirk Arrington Wiki – Kirk Arrington Biography

Kirk Arrington, the former drummer for METAL CHURCH, died of an unexplained ailment. He was 61 years old at the time.

METAL CHURCH issued the following statement on Facebook earlier today: “We just received the sad news, Kirk Arrington passed away this morning due to health issues.” Brother, rest in peace! Hope to see you on the other side….”RIP #legend #gonetoosoon #MetalChurch #drummer.”Arrington quit METAL CHURCH in 2006 owing to health difficulties after years of diabetes treatment. He was initially replaced by Jeff Plate, a former member of SAVATAGE and TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, and later by Stet Howland, a former member of W.A.S.P.

Kirk’s death comes less than two years after METAL CHURCH frontman Mike Howe was discovered dead at his Eureka, California home. According to TMZ, Howe’s official cause of death was suffocation caused by hanging. According to a representative for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department, the incident was ruled a suicide. He was only 55 at the time. Howe, who headed METAL CHURCH from 1988 to 1994, returned to the band in April 2015.

Howe is not the first METAL CHURCH singer to pass away. David Wayne died in May 2005 as a result of complications from an automobile accident. He was 47 years old at the time. Wayne sang on METAL CHURCH’s first two iconic albums, “Metal Church” (1984) and “The Dark” (1986), before quitting the band and being replaced by Howe. METAL CHURCH guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof discussed the ill-fated reunion of METAL CHURCH in a 2017 interview with Eonmusic.

Kirk Arrington Age

Kirk Arrington was 61 years old.

Open Air Festival in Germany

‘Masterpeace,’ which I prefer to call ‘Disasterpeace,’ he explained. The concept was wonderful, but when we tried to put it together, it just didn’t work. We were forced to do some things, and I swear, when we played Wacken [Open Air festival in Germany] with [traditional METAL CHURCH frontman] David Wayne, the whole thing went apart because we didn’t have all of the original members. They forced us to do it, and I was telling management and the record label, ‘Look, this is a poor, bad idea.’ We played and sucked — I mean, it was awful. ‘Fuck you,’ I said. ‘I warned you, and I told you, that this is bad.'”

Kurdt explained why the reunion failed, saying, “Well, David Wayne couldn’t sing.” He was high on prescription medicines since that’s ‘different.’ It was nice to perform with [fellow guitarist] John Marshall, but Kirk [Arrington] couldn’t because of his health, so I had to let him go. He didn’t play, and he barely played on the record, which took an eternity to complete.

It simply did not work. It was an awful sensation. We went on a tour, and it was terrible. We’re still reeling from that.” “Literally, ‘Masterpeace,’ that era was when I decided I am never, ever doing that again,” the guitarist continued. METAL CHURCH announced in February that it had signed ROSS THE BOSS and LET US PREY frontman Marc Lopes to sing for the band. METAL CHURCH’s first studio album with Lopes, “Congregation Of Annihilation”, will arrive on May 26 via Rat Pak Records (America) and Reaper Entertainment (Europe).
