Kiea McCann and Dlava Mohamed Wiki – Kiea McCann and Dlava Mohamed Biography

Kiea McCann, 17, from Clones, Co Monaghan, lost her life along with her friend Dlava Mohamed, 16, after their car veered off the N54 and crashed into a tree on the side of the road, just on the outskirts of Clones. Dlava’s sister Auin and Oisín Clerkin, both 18, also suffered serious injuries in the crash, with the driver of the car, 60-year-old Anthony McGinn, still in intensive care. Now, Kiea’s father, Frankie, has revealed how he rushed to the scene of the accident but was unable to save his daughter or her friend due to her catastrophic injuries. “I got out as fast as I could and tried to revive them with a woman who was also there,” Frankie told the Independent.ie. I had to go from my daughter to her best friend, but there was nothing I could do. All I could do was ask to put them lying together.

There was great excitement here in the house before they came out. We had food, champagne and balloons, and it was going to be a great night,” she said, lamenting the tragedy of her daughter’s death. Frankie, an avid biker, went on to explain that he and Kiea, the fifth of 10 children, had attended Kiea’s first motorcycle rally over the weekend and told him of their plans to study childcare. Kiea’s mother, Teresa, simply said: ‘It will be difficult for all the young people. Hard with all my friends. Meanwhile, Dlava’s death notice read: ‘Dear and much-loved daughter of Hohamed and Zenab Mohamed. Dlava will be sadly missed by her brothers Mostafa and Rashid and her sisters Lilov, Asmahan, Auin, and Giham.’

Monaghan accident: Funeral details confirmed for tragic Kiea McCann (17)

Kiea’s remains were removed from a funeral home in the town of Monaghan and brought to Clones on Tuesday night. Many members of the local community stood on Monaghan Street and the town square, The Diamond, in a show of support for the family. A procession of motorbikes and cars followed the hearse carrying the white coffin as it slowly made its way through the city, stopping briefly in front of a house where Dlava’s relatives are known to live. Many in the crowd broke down and comforted each other as the hearse passed. Tragically, the last photos taken of the two girls were of them smiling in their prom gowns as they prepared for the event that would mark their high school graduation. The scene on the N54 Clones to Smithborough road in Legnakelly was closed within 24 hours of the crash but reopened on Tuesday night following a forensic examination of the scene.

Speaking at the Clones Garda station on Tuesday, Superintendent Patrick O’Connell said relatives of the victims attended the scene on Monday night. ‘(They are) suffering from shock and trauma. They were on the scene last night, so they’re trying to deal with all the fallout from that and we’re there to try to support them. “We have designated family liaison officers and will continue over the next few days and weeks to continue to do so,” he said, calling for the families’ privacy to be respected. Largy College Principal Sharon Magennis expressed her “deepest condolences” to the families and friends of the two students. She also expressed her gratitude to the first responders and Gardai who responded to the incident, saying her priority now would be “the well-being of students, parents and staff at this difficult time.”

Investigation Report

Superintendent O’Connell said a senior investigating officer had been appointed and a conference on the case had been held at Monaghan Garda station, but he could not give details of the focus of the Garda investigation. We are asking for information and our main concern at this time is to support the families of those affected. But our investigation will proceed apace,” he said. The incident took place on a section of the N54 between Clones and Smithborough on Monday between 6:15 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
