Kevin Salas Madrid, an Arizona Family Dollar store clerk has been charged with murder after police say he shot a robber who hit him 10 times in the face.
Madrid, 24, confronted the serial shoplifter and told him to leave the store, at which point the robber punched him in the face and took off Madrid’s glasses.

Madrid Admitted after the shooting that he couldn’t control his anger
Madrid then allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the robber at least ten times, including several times when the robber was on the ground.
“Madrid said he made the worst decision of his life,” police said in their probable cause statement. “Kevin explained that he was hit and he decided to shoot, but looking back, he realized that he was egregious.”
A store employee said Madrid fired as many as 15 shots and admitted after the shooting that he couldn’t control his anger, Arizona’s Family reported. Madrid was jailed on a second-degree murder charge. The Phoenix Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
