Kelsie Davies, Michale Chandler, and Sheree Robertson the victims – The names of three young women killed in a horrific vehicle accident allegedly caused by a 13-year-old kid driving a stolen Mercedes have been released.
The reportedly stolen vehicle collided with a Holden, killing 17-year-old Kelsie Davies and 29-year-old church pastor Michale Chandler in Maryborough, 245 kilometers north of Brisbane, about 10.45 p.m. on Sunday. The impact of the collision also pushed the truck into a Mazda, killing its driver, nurse Sheree Robertson, 52, who was heading home from work. A 23-year-old passenger in the Holden was airlifted to a Brisbane hospital for treatment. The suspected driver of the Mercedes was transported to the hospital, but he was later discharged and charged with three charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle resulting in death and one case of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Police are looking into whether another passenger was in the vehicle with the accused after reports of someone fleeing the area. Teachers at Riverside Christian College in Maryborough, where Ms. Davies graduated last year, are devastated by the tragedy.
One of her teachers was Bundaberg Labour MP Tom Smith, who attended lessons until he was elected to the Queensland parliament in 2020. Kelsie was a pupil that every teacher wishes they could teach,’ Mr. Smith said in an interview with The Courier Mail. She was always eager to learn, eager to achieve great things, and most importantly, she was a really nice and sweet-natured child who was adored by all of her peers. It is impossible to describe all of the words that fully represent why Kelsie will be missed on a day like today, but I know that her cohort of friends from last year’s graduating Riverside class will be mourning and sharing their sadness for someone so dear to them. ‘Today, like many others, I will be thinking of her family and friends, as well as the relatives of those who died yesterday night.

Ms. Robertson was killed in the incident while traveling home in her Mazda after work, according to police. When nurses and paramedics arrived at the crash site, they were met with the sight of their critically injured Maryborough Hospital coworker, who died at the scene despite their desperate efforts. On Monday, the Wide Bay Health and Hospital Service issued a statement in memory of their colleague. The statement added, “The Wide Bay HHS team was absolutely devastated to learn of the death of a respected Maryborough Hospital staff member in a tragic road crash over the weekend.”
‘Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and loved ones, and the first responders who have been impacted.’ Ms. Robertson was described as a very cool, pretty loud, really outgoing type of nurse’ by a friend who begged not to be identified. She was an incredible instructor, and I learned so much from her,’ she said. We shall be mourning her loss for a long time.’
Matthew Chandler, Ms. Chandler’s husband, paid homage to her on Facebook. It is with a heavy heart that we say farewell to our dear Michale Chandler for the time being,’ he wrote. You were and will continue to be the world’s best wife and mother. ‘I love you to the moon and back, my Queen, till we meet in paradise.’
Earlier this month, the couple celebrated one year as credentialed pastors at Maryborough’s Reach Church. The Mercedes involved in the mishap was reported stolen from a Maryborough home at 8.40 p.m. on Sunday, although police were not looking for it at the time of the accident. The alleged driver is “known to police,” but he was not on police bail at the time, and a spokesman said he was unaware of any community order against him. The 13-year-old will appear in Maroochydore Children’s Court later this month.
