Ms. Mokbel’s car collided with a tree as she drove down a street in Heidelberg West, a northeastern Melbourne suburb, shortly before 9 p.m.
According to reports, Mokbel was made aware of the incident and communicated with his family, but he is not likely to apply to attend the funeral. The inmate was transported to the hospital last month for emergency treatment for a blood clot.

Ms. Mokbel was recalled fondly by her bereaved relatives and friends, who referred to her as a “pocket rocket” with an infectious smile.
“I’m gonna miss your silly laugh, your 1 hour story times, your 100 Snapchats that you’d send me every day, your presence, your love, and most of all you,” Odeta Lamé said in her post, which included several images.
“I love you, my twin flame, and you’ll always hold a special place in my heart.”
“You were such a light and made an imprint in everyone’s life,” commented another friend, Rini Menidis. “You were always there for me and had my back. I looked up to you as though you were my big sister. “You will always be in my heart, my girl.”
“You’ve left so many people behind that I don’t know how to live without you,” Helena Katsouranis added to the outpouring of love. “I thank God for the time I had with you; not many people meet such a natural ray of sunshine as you.”
“The way your smile lit up the entire universe was infectious,” Josephine Fotiadis remarked. “You would bring my mood to your level of joy in moments of being around you.”
Savva Pappas stated that his heart was crushed into pieces.
Another homage to the young woman was posted by Our Lady of Lebanon, an inner-city Melbourne church.
“Greetings, Parishioners. Sadly, a member of our Melbourne community, Kalliopi Keana Mokbel, has died,” it said.
