Kayleigh Scott, 25, a transgender flight attendant who became famous for appearing in a United Airlines commercial, was found dead on Monday, March 20, after committing suicide at her Colorado home.
Scott stated in an Instagram post the same day, around 2:30 a.m., that she planned to end her life. “As I take my last breath and leave this earth alive, I’d like to apologize to everyone I’ve let down. I’m so sorry I couldn’t have been better,” she wrote in the post. I’m sorry I couldn’t be stronger. To those who gave me everything, I am sorry that my effort has not been reciprocated, ”she continued. Scott further said: “Please understand that my leaving is not a reflection on you, but a result of my own inability to improve. To Ashley, Cynthia, Regine, and Sophia. I am so sorry. Please remember me for the fond memories that we’ve shared, and never for my downfall. I’ll see you all again on the other side.”

Police Investigation Report
After seeing her heartbreaking post, friends of hers called Denver authorities and asked them to do a wellness check on the flight attendant. A spokesperson for the Denver Police Department said an investigation is ongoing and the final determination of the cause of death will be made by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner, according to a report by the Los Angeles Blade.
Scott’s sister, Ashley Scott, later commented to confirm her sister’s death
“To everyone who has commented and is looking at this post, Kay has passed away,” Ashley said before adding, “Thank you for her concern and her great love for her. She will be sorely missed.” Details about how she ended her life remain unclear, but several of her friends mentioned that she struggled with depression.

In 2020
Scott made headlines in 2020 when United Airlines featured her as part of her diversity campaign. In this campaign, she spoke about her struggles to fit in with the cis community. She encouraged all those who fight against social norms to never give up. The deceased attendee also thanked her company, United Airlines, for her support.
