Jesse Brown Wiki – Bio

Jesse Brown, an 11-year-old “miracle boy”, has died after an apparently benign ankle sprain suffered while running on a treadmill led to a flesh-eating infection.

Jesse Brown’s leg was covered in “spots, purple, red, almost like bruises” a few days after she sprained and possibly scratched her ankle while exercising a few weeks ago, her cousin Megan Brown told Fox 35 on Wednesday. He was rushed to the ICU and diagnosed with a group A strep infection that later morphed into the flesh-eating bacteria, the news station reported.

That startling development led to the boy’s brain supposedly swelling up and killing him. They said because he sprained his ankle, that’s probably where the infection hit him because he was already a week old,” Megan Brown told the outlet. Jesse was born after his parents struggled to get pregnant for 10 years, and was considered his miracle child by the family, WESH reported. He competed in BMX and motocross competitions and was described as an “old soul,” according to Brown.

“He was such an old soul. Like, everyone was like, ‘he’s such a small adult, like, in this little, tiny body, you know?’ Brown told WESH.

What is Group A Strep infection?

Dr. Alan Cross, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Maryland Medical Center, told the news station that group A strep can cause a “very rapid infection” that can turn it into a “toxin.” These types of infections can form in both children and adults, from scrapes to larger wounds, he explained. The bottom line here is that you properly clean the wound first and then you can revise it over time,” Cross said.

Jesse had one boot on due to the ankle injury and his family didn’t realize the problem was coming up fast enough, WESH reported.

“I kept thinking about Bebe, her mom because she’s my favorite and my heart broke for her,” Brown said. The boy’s elementary school, where he was in fifth grade, started a commemorative fundraiser.

“While Jesse was a miracle to his parents and his family, he was also a true blessing to his Lakemont family,” Lakemont Elementary School wrote. “He was kind and compassionate, caring, adventurous, and a great friend and classmate.”
