Tuscaloosa police are investigating after a driver on Interstate 20/59 called 911 and said he had been shot.
The 19-year-old victim was traveling southbound between the 72 and 73 mile markers when someone shot from another vehicle around 7:30 a.m. m. He was hit by shots that went through his windshield.
Tuscaloosa police said the victim, who is from Tuscaloosa County, was taken by ambulance to DCH Regional Medical Center and is being treated.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is taking over the investigation and said there is no threat to the public or other motorists at this time.
