Jake Hill, 24, has been charged with murder after a man named Michael Allen was stabbed to death near a Cornwall nightclub.
Michael Allen, 32, of Liskeard, died at the scene, and seven other men and women were stabbed during the early Sunday assault in Victoria Square on Castle Canyke Road in Bodmin. Six of the seven were brought to the hospital, but have since been released. At 3.15 a.m., police were called to a serious altercation near the Eclipse nightclub. Officers responded to reports of a person wielding a knife and other people suffering from suspected stab wounds.

Suspect in the Murder of Michael Allen, Arrested
Jake Hill, of Bodmin, has now been charged with one crime of murder, three counts of attempted murder, and two offenses of Section 18 intent to cause severe bodily injury. He is scheduled to appear before Truro Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.
The police have asked members of the public to email them any doorbell, CCTV, or dashcam footage that could aid their inquiry. Following the incident, Mr. Allen’s family issued a statement in which they described him as a “much-loved son, brother, grandson, and uncle who loved his dogs.” Bodmin Rugby Club expressed tribute as well, adding he arrived earlier this season “and quickly became a big part of our squad.” His humor and kindness left an impression on us all, and we will miss him greatly,” the club wrote.
