After a suspected carbon monoxide leak at a holiday property in Spain, an Edinburgh man died and his wife is fighting for her life. Jaime Carsi, 40, was discovered dead at the residence on the island of Majorca by emergency workers on Saturday, while Mary Somerville, 39, was discovered next to him. Ms. Somerville is still in critical condition at the island’s Manacor Hospital’s intensive care unit. The pair are thought to have been living in a property in Cala Mesquida, Majorca’s northeastern region. Mr. Carsi, who listed himself as being from Madrid but living in Edinburgh on social media, worked for a Scottish financial firm.

Mr. Carsi was characterized as having a “magnificent soul” by another friend.
