Jaiangelis Stevenson, a toddler from Las Vegas, accidentally shot himself to death at a caregiver’s home over the weekend, leaving a grieving family. Jaiangelis Stevenson, 2, shot himself in the bedroom of a house near Nellis Air Force Base around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, KLAS reported. The boy was transported to the University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the outlet explained. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident for possible abuse and neglect.

Jaiangelis was being watched by a family member while his mother worked when the shooting occurred, his aunt Paris Box told 8 News Now. “In fact, we would call him ‘Blue’ because of his eyes,” she recalled of the young man. “He’d say ‘Hi Ti Ti’ and walk around with his little lollipop.” The family is working to come to terms with what happened, Box added. “A kid was shot with someone else’s gun and that’s negligence, but I don’t know what happened,” she said. “Because I know the heart of everyone involved, I don’t have hate in my heart, I’m a little disappointed, but I know that wasn’t meant to happen.”
