Jacob Cloke died yesterday from ‘critical’ gunshot wounds sustained at a property in Dartford, Kent, where he held Hayley Burke hostage. Ms. Burke, 36, was shot on Saturday afternoon after a standoff with armed policemen and police negotiators at her home and died two days later in a hospital. Cloke was being investigated as the primary suspect in the death of Ms. Burke, who loved ones described as “the loudest friend in the group.” A guy was charged yesterday after reportedly being found with a pistol linked to the murder of a mother-of-two who was held hostage in her house.
Witnesses reported that after an hour-long standoff, ‘pandemonium’ broke out and that the woman was ‘kept hostage’ by a man in the back of the home. A woman who lives near the hostage situation described the event as a terror attack. ‘After many hours of talking between the police and a male, I heard loud gunshot sounds and what appeared to be six gunshot sounds,’ she claimed. ‘It was a horrifying scene. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. I assumed it had to do with terrorism.’ She then discovered a smashed double-glazed window in one of her home’s bedrooms, with a ‘bullet’ jammed between the outer and inner panes. ‘I stayed inside all day because I was too scared to go outdoors in the situation,’ the woman stated. It lasted for hours. Then, at about 4.30 p.m., we noticed a woman receiving CPR outside a garage. We still didn’t know what was going on.’

Dartford shooting: Suspect dies in hospital
The incident occurred while millions of television viewers were watching King Charles III’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey, which was 16 miles distant. I’ve known her for a long time. She was a lovely young lady. It’s terrible, especially on our doorstep, and it scared a lot of people. But it’s dreadful; this neighborhood has completely deteriorated.’ My son, 14 years old, recognized her and said she really helped me,’ said the mother, who stated her children were outside when it happened. She was always helpful and never disrespectful.’
Another resident, who wished to remain nameless, claimed he had just returned from the capital’s Coronation to discover the road closed.
