Ivey Lewis, a Washington mother has been charged with the first and second degree murder of her 3-year-old son. Official documents revealed, who uses methamphetamine and is allegedly pregnant, killed the boy who had been in foster care up to six months ago. Police were alerted on Sunday night and upon arrival found the boy was “very stiff” and “no pulse”.

Son found dead in Tacoma Apartment
“On February 12, 2023, at 7:35 p.m. m., officers responded to a third-hand report of a child who was unresponsive and cold to the touch in an apartment in the 3200 block of South Mason Avenue. Upon arrival, officers entered the apartment and brought the three-year-old child to them,” the Tacoma Police Department said in a statement. It added: “Life-saving measures were immediately initiated, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene.” The 25-year-old mother of two at the 3202 South Mason Avenue, Tacoma apartment complex, called a friend for help, and the friend found the victim unconscious in a room.
According to the affidavit, which was signed by Assistant District Attorney Lisa Wagner, reveals that responding police officers found the 3-year-old boy dead at the scene along with his surviving 1-year-old brother, J.W. in a bed It says: “When the officers entered the bedroom, they could see a small boy, identified as P.L. three-year-old, lying on his back with knees slightly bent. They saw that he had multiple bruises on his face that appeared to be fresh. He also mentioned: “The victim’s face was discolored, bruised, and had obvious burn marks all over his face. Agents also observed cuts on the victim’s face”.
In an interview with police, the defendant, who also goes by Divine Ry Chev, confessed that she earlier hit the victim with a belt after “catching him and a girl ‘snuggling’ together.” Lewis also allegedly admitted that she uses methamphetamine and that she is currently pregnant. According to authorities, “Detectives examined the victim’s body more closely and noted that the victim had obvious trauma to the front of the head, including swelling above the eyebrows, possible bruising to the crown of the head, and suspected blood around the mouth and nose area.” Court documents further said: “Several small marks were also noted on the victim’s chest, which appeared to be consistent with an electronic discharge device (taser) located on the kitchen table. The surviving 1-year-old son, J.W., is currently in protective custody, police officials said.
