He realized that the sounds were different from those heard during the usual rocket attacks on the kibbutz, located near Sderot and a stone’s throw from the Gaza Strip. Lieberman then rushed to open the armory, distributed weapons to the 12-member security team and coordinated their decisive response amid the unfolding attack. He placed his squad of kibbutzniks in strategic positions throughout the kibbutz and set up ambushes that trapped the guard gunmen and turned them around during their mission to inflict mass casualties.

Shot dead 20 terrorists in four hours
Lieberman single-handedly killed five terrorists, while the others shot dead another 20 in four hours as they turned Nir Am into an impenetrable fortress, while nearby kibbutzim suffered heavy losses, Walla News reported. Ilit Paz, Nir Am’s cultural coordinator, told news outlet Israel Hayom: “It was incredible. My husband was part of the reserve unit that worked to prevent more victims. “They heard the shots and made contact on their own with other members of the reserve unit and Inbal, and understood that they had been told to stand by. “But Inbal made the decision not to wait and be intervened operationally. In fact, the fact that they did it early prevented dozens of victims,” she added. A post on social media also praised the heroic woman, Maariv newspaper reported. “When it’s all over, this woman will receive the Israel Prize. The story of her heroism is one that will be recorded in Israeli tradition for generations. “Inbal is the reason there is one kibbutz in the entire surrounding area that remains unscathed: Nir Am,” the post said. According to the most recent figures, at least 900 people have been killed and another 2,600 injured in Israel.
