Hollie Hodgkinson, 24, was struck by a car in Harlow, Essex, on Sunday and died three days later, surrounded by her family. Her family paid tribute in a GoFundMe appeal to raise money for her funeral. “We as a family are absolutely devastated…everyone who knew Hollie would know how many hearts she touched and how lovely and smiley she could be.” The incident occurred on First Avenue, Harlow near St Mary at Latton Church at around 10:30 am. m. on Sunday, July 2. Essex Police confirmed the driver has stopped at the scene and is assisting them with their inquiries. Police said they would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the scene.

In a GoFundMe tribute, the family said they stayed at her bedside until she died. She was saying: “She was just young and she had so much more life to live yet, but she broke off.” We as a family are absolutely devastated…everyone who knew Hollie would know how many hearts she touched, and how beautiful and smiling she is. she might be. We know she deserves the best day at her funeral!! This shouldn’t be happening at all, but we’ll do it for her, our Hollie. She also left behind a beautiful son who will now have a big family to share all the stories about her beautiful mom. If she would like to help with her funeral costs, it would be greatly appreciated. Every penny will help and as a family, we will be forever grateful to all of you for helping Hollie say goodbye to her the way she deserves from her. Until we see you again, my little sister, we will be strong for you.’
