Henry Meacock, a Football player and New Jersey native died suddenly during spring break at Ohio State University, according to multiple news reports.
The Westfield native was majoring in finance at OSU, according to his LinkedIn page. OSU issued a statement mourning his death in the Columbus Dispatch.”The Ohio State community has suffered a tragic loss, and we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Henry Meacock,” the spokesman said. “Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this exceptionally difficult time.”

Meacock’s sister, Ellie, wrote a tribute to him on Instagram, which was later made private. “My little brother, I can’t believe it,” she writes. “Words cannot describe how much I miss you. It hurts to breathe without you. You are an extremely special soul who will live forever. The most beautiful child inside and out. No one will ever have a smile like yours.”
Meacock worked as a golf caddy at Echo Lake Country Club and grew up playing football, which he continued at Ohio State.
“Soccer has allowed me to learn how to work with teammates and coaches and how to put the group before the individual,” he writes on LinkedIn. “I am interested in the insurance and reinsurance industry as it relates to my specialization in finance and it has been a core industry within my family.”
