Heklina’s passing was also confirmed by the Soho Theatre, which issued the following statement: “Our sympathies are with Peaches, Mommie Queerest company, Heklina’s family, friends, and their larger community.”

Career
In 1996, Heklina established herself as a mainstay of the San Francisco drag scene by hosting the well-liked weekly program now known as “Mother,” which featured guests including Lady Gaga and Charro. The organization functioned as a key source of creative inspiration in the neighborhood and created numerous local drag careers, including those of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars” champion Alaska Thunderfuck.
